Choosing a Muck Blower and Mount
A muck blower uses a motor and prop to push water across the bottom, moving loose silt and muck away from a slip or shoreline. Muck Blower 360 is one of Lake Lite, Inc.'s brands, alongside Lake Lite and Lake Lifter. Choosing one comes down to cord length, mount style and keeping up with a few wear parts.
Pick the cord length
The 1 HP Muck Blower with 360° Bluetooth oscillator is sold with a 50 ft or 100 ft cord. Measure from your GFCI outlet to where the unit will mount and pick the cord that reaches without an extension in the water.
Pick the mount
The HD mounting options in muck blower mounting accessories cover most setups:
- HD dock post mount clamps to a dock post and comes with stainless hardware.
- HD dock plate mount bolts or screws to a dock deck.
- HD truss dock mount is made for truss-style docks.
- HD free-standing frame sits on the lake bottom for spots with no dock. It is sold alone, for owners who already have the post mount, or bundled with the post mount.
What to check before ordering
- Water depth where the unit will sit.
- Dock type: post, flat deck or truss frame.
- A GFCI-protected outlet within reach of the cord.
Maintenance parts
Replacement parts include the motor prop, a 1/2 in. shaft zinc anode and a 3 ft 12/3 GFCI cord. The zinc anode is sacrificial. It corrodes so the shaft doesn't, so check it regularly and replace it when it wears down.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a cord that is too short and adding an extension cord near the water.
- Letting the zinc anode wear away completely.
- Ordering a post mount for a truss dock.

Muck Blowers FAQ
What does a muck blower do?
A muck blower uses a motor and prop to push water across the lake bottom, moving loose silt and muck away from a dock, boat slip or swim area. The Muck Blower 360 adds a Bluetooth oscillator so the unit can sweep a full 360° around its mount instead of blowing in one direction.
Which Muck Blower mount do I need?
Use the HD dock post mount on a dock post, the plate mount on a flat dock deck, and the truss mount on truss-style docks. Where there is no dock, the HD free-standing frame sits on the lake bottom. The frame is sold alone or bundled with the post mount.
How often should I replace the zinc anode?
The 1/2 in. shaft zinc anode is a sacrificial part. It corrodes in place of the motor shaft, so check it regularly during the season and replace it before it wears away. How fast it goes depends on your water, so look at it more often in the first season.
