Docks fail slowly. Then all at once.

A loose fastening left alone becomes a soft spot. A soft spot left alone becomes a structural repair. Here's what that progression actually costs.

The Program

What's Included

Four pillars, working together year-round so nothing gets missed.

Weekly Inspections

Every week, in season, an inspector checks:

  • Hardware & fasteners
  • Decking & structure
  • Flotation & lift systems
  • Electrical & lighting
  • Lines, fenders & safety gear

Spring Pressure Washing

One full-dock wash every spring:

  • Removes algae & buildup, improves appearance
  • Restores traction, cuts slip risk
  • Includes a post-wash inspection

Roof washing not included, but available for an additional cost.

Quarterly Storm Checks

Four structural checks a year, plus after any storm event:

  • Mud poles, anchor points & cables
  • Roof structure & tie-downs
  • Storm-readiness & damage review

Peace of Mind

The membership layer that ties it together:

  • Priority repair scheduling
  • Member repair discount
  • Written maintenance history
  • One predictable annual cost

Ideal for part-time owners and short-term rental managers who want their investment looked after while they're away from the lake.

Why It Matters

Built Around What You Actually Care About

Financial predictability

Converts unpredictable repair bills into one small, known annual cost - and protects the dock's resale value.

Safety, for everyone on it

Fewer rotted boards, loose hardware, and unstable mud poles - for you, your family, and your guests.

Time back in your day

You never have to climb around inspecting the dock yourself, or remember when the last check happened.

Documentation that holds up

A dated, photo-backed paper trail - useful for insurance claims, resale disclosures, and HOA/marina compliance.

Storm resilience

Docks maintained proactively hold up better in storms - and get back in service faster afterward.

First in line, when it counts

When everyone on the lake is calling around after a storm, members are already at the front of the line.

The Math

Why It Pays to Catch It Early

Cost ranges below are industry-reported figures for materials and labor; actual costs vary by region and dock.

With DockGuard

  • Hardware Inspection - loose bolts found and tightened immediately, reduces the risk of shearing and larger damage
  • Mud pole & anchor inspections - reduce the risk of your dock breaking loose
  • Well-maintained docks - keeps costs low and predictable

Boat lift add-on available for $200/yr each.

Left Unaddressed

  • Loose bolts let structural components shift and cause damage - $750+ to repair
  • Worn mudpoles fail - $200–$1,000 per mudpole to replace
  • Broken tie-downs or cleats risk damage to your boat or watercraft - $1,000+ to repair
  • Dock replacement due to lack of maintenance can be $25,000+

Questions

Frequently Asked

Does DockGuard cover the cost of repairs?

Membership covers inspection, spring pressure washing, and storm checks. If a repair is needed, members get priority scheduling and a repair discount (10% on Standard, 15% on Premier) rather than the repair itself being included.

Can I cancel or change plans?

Plans can be adjusted or cancelled at the time of renewal. Any change takes effect at the start of your next membership year.

What happens after a storm?

Members get an additional check after any storm event on top of their regular quarterly checks, with priority scheduling for any repairs found.

What areas do you serve?

DockGuard is currently available to customers on and around Lake of Egypt. We are working to bring this program to other lakes and marinas soon!
