Choosing Boat Lift Accessories and Options
The options in this category are built for Econolift floating lifts. They change how a lift behaves in rough water or how it mounts in the slip, so they need to match your lift's model and arm count.
Rough Water Kit
Econolift's rough water kit attaches bars that limit side-to-side sway of the boat to about 1 in. Less movement means less banging and wear on the lift, the boat and the dock. It makes the most sense in windy spots, open coves and areas with steady boat traffic. Our listing includes installation.
Back-over options
A back-over option changes how the lift attaches in the slip. Each listing is matched to a lift by arm count: 4-arm, 6-arm or 8-arm. The 8-arm back-over option, for example, includes a 48 in. arm and a 48 in. dock bracket and is listed for 10 to 20 ft slips.
What to check before ordering
- Lift model and arm count. Count the arms on your lift or read the model on the tag at the tank's front right corner, where Econolift places the serial number.
- Slip width. Measure inside the slip, wall to wall, before choosing arm and bracket lengths.
- Dock type and condition. Brackets need solid framing to bolt into. A worn or soft dock frame should be fixed first.
Common mistakes
- Ordering a back-over kit for the wrong arm count.
- Adding a rough water kit to a lift that has worn bushings or loose bolts. Fix the wear first.
- Assuming parts from another lift brand will bolt on. These are Econolift options.
Replacement arms, brackets, bunks and bolts are in Econolift lift hardware, and complete lifts are in boat lifts. For blowers and valves, see blower lift controls. If you aren't sure which option your lift takes, call 618-294-6905 with your lift model and slip width.
Lift Accessories FAQ
What does the Econolift Rough Water Kit do?
The Econolift Rough Water Kit attaches bars that keep a lifted boat from swaying more than about an inch side to side. That cuts down on noise and wear so the dock and lift move as one unit. It is aimed at windy or high-traffic areas, and the Blue Ridge listing includes installation.
What is a back-over option on an Econolift lift?
A back-over option is an alternate mounting setup for an Econolift lift, sold to match 4-arm, 6-arm or 8-arm lifts. The 8-arm version includes a 48 in. arm and a 48 in. dock bracket and is listed for slips 10 to 20 ft wide. Check your arm count before ordering.
How do I tell which Econolift model I have?
Econolift puts the model and serial number on a tag at the front right corner of the tank. Counting the lift arms also helps narrow it down. If the tag is missing or faded, send Blue Ridge Boat Docks a photo of the lift and your slip width.
Can Blue Ridge add these options to my existing lift?
Yes. Blue Ridge Boat Docks installs and services Econolift lifts across Southern Illinois and nearby states. The Rough Water Kit listing includes installation. For other options, call 618-294-6905 to set up a service visit, or pick parts up free at the Marion shop.
