Finding the Right Econolift Lift Hardware
Everything in this category is hardware for Econolift floating lifts. Most parts are sized to a specific lift capacity or slip width, so a few minutes with a tape measure saves a return trip.
Identify your lift first
Econolift places the model and serial number on a tag at the front right corner of the tank. Knowing the capacity (4,500, 6,500, 10,000 lb and so on) and whether it is a side mount, front mount or PWC lift narrows the parts list quickly.
What to measure
- Arms. L-arms and T-arms are sized by slip width. Measure inside the slip before ordering.
- Dock brackets. Brackets come in HDB and clamp styles in 38 in. and 48 in. lengths. Match what is on the dock now.
- Bunks and bunk brackets. Econolift bunk brackets range from 7 in. to 24 in., and the height sets where the boat rides. V-hull and pontoon versions are different parts.
- Bolts. Fastener names give diameter by length in inches, so 3/8 x 4 is a 3/8 in. bolt, 4 in. long.
- Tie pipe. Sold in 7 ft and 10 ft 6 in. lengths in 1-1/2 in. or 2 in. pipe.
Wear parts worth checking every season
Econolift uses UHMW bushings at every pivot. Worn bushings let arms rattle and wear the steel. Check them along with bolts, hose and the valve while the lift is up. Valves and hose are in valves, hose and tank fittings.
Common mistakes
- Ordering bunks for the lift's capacity without checking the hull type.
- Replacing one worn bushing and leaving the rest.
- Using non-galvanized hardware store bolts that rust in place.
Blower motors and newer control boxes are in blower lift controls. If you can't match a part, send a photo and your lift model to office@blueridgedock.com or call 618-294-6905 and we'll find it.
Hardware FAQ
Do these parts fit any floating boat lift?
No. The parts in this category are Econolift lift hardware, sized to Econolift capacities and slip widths. Some fasteners are standard sizes, but arms, brackets, frames and bunks are made for Econolift lifts. If you have another brand, call Blue Ridge Boat Docks at 618-294-6905 before ordering.
How do I choose the right arm length?
Econolift arms are sized by slip width. The store lists, for example, a 5 ft L-arm and 5 ft T-arm for 11 to 12 ft slips and a 7 ft T-arm for 15 to 20 ft slips. Measure the inside width of your slip and match the arm style already on the lift.
What are bunk brackets and why do sizes vary?
Bunk brackets hold the wood bunks to the lift frame. Econolift offers them from 7 in. to 24 in., and the height sets where the boat sits on the lift. Pontoon and catamaran-hull versions are also available, so match the bracket to your hull as well as your lift.
Why does my lift rattle or clunk?
Worn UHMW bushings at the arm pivots are a common cause, along with loose bolts. Econolift uses these bushings at every pivot, and replacing worn ones keeps the steel from wearing. If the noise comes from boat sway in rough water, a rough water kit may help.
