EZ Dock Anchoring FAQ
Which pipe bracket size do I need for EZ Dock?
EZ Dock's 250-series pipe brackets take 2-3/8 in. OD SCH 40 galvanized pipe, and 350-series brackets take 3-1/2 in. OD pipe. Choose standard-duty for about 2 ft waves or heavy-duty for about 3 ft waves and deeper water, then order pipe long enough for your depth.
How deep should anchor pipe go into the lake bottom?
EZ Dock says pipe should be driven at least 3 ft, or one-third of the water depth, into the bottom. Add that to the water depth and the height you need above the dock to figure pipe length. Soft bottoms may need more. Blue Ridge Boat Docks can assess your site.
When should I use piling brackets or stiff arms instead of pipe?
EZ Dock recommends piling brackets for water over 18 ft, big level changes, severe wind or ice, or boats 30 ft and longer. Stiff arms connect the dock to shore with equal-length parallel arms and cross cabling, which works well near a seawall or bank.
