When should I choose a sectional dock over a roll-in dock?
DAKA suggests its sectional post docks for steep banks and drop-offs where water levels change less than about 2 ft. Roll-in docks suit gradual slopes. Both need a hard, sandy or rocky bottom. Not sure which you have? Blue Ridge Boat Docks can take a look.
What holds a Low Pro 7 sectional dock up?
DAKA's sectional version uses 1-1/2 in. galvanized round pipe or 2 in. aluminum square posts set in 18 in. sleeves with two set bolts, on foot pads or augers. Deep water sleeves with braces are available for deeper spots. Galvanized corner brackets join sections with a wrench.
Can a sectional dock be stored for winter?
Yes. DAKA sectional sections come apart and stack for off-season storage. That helps on lakes where ice can damage a dock left in the water. If you are moving the dock to a new spot, Blue Ridge Boat Docks also handles dock relocation.
